I have a very close friend who has a Ph.D in nursing and works in the School of Nursing at McNeese State University in Lake Charles. She and her husband commissioned me to do a drawing of the vocation of nursing around the turn of the 19th century. In my drawing, I illustrate a nurse visiting a sick person in the country, probably the mother of the three children who are escorting their "angel of mercy" back to her carriage.
